Scotland’s Transport Secretary, Fiona Hyslop, has announced the 2026 Delivery Plan for the A9 Dualling Programme.
The Plan provides detail on delivery of the Programme by the end of 2035 and confirms that this will be financed through capital funding.
The new ordering prioritizes upgrading the grade-separated junctions at Carrbridge and Aviemore as part of the sixth construction section in the Northern region.
When finished in 2032, this will create about 38 miles of uninterrupted dual carriageway between Inverness and Kincraig.
Ms Hyslop confirmed that the Government is on target to complete the dualling by 2035.
Gairloch Aultbea and Poolewe Litter Busters have released their clean-up figures for the last three months.
During that time, ten volunteers spent sixteen hours picking up twenty-two bags of litter.
Among their more interesting finds were four buckets, a fish box and a buoy.
Anyone interested in plugging a Litter-busting gap in the area should contact Donna at the GALE Centre (volunteering@galeteam.co.uk) or through the GAP Litter Busters Group on Facebook.
