Road users on the A9 are being warned of possible delays on Monday, when temporary traffic signals will be in operation at three locations near Tomatin.
The measures are needed to allow large construction vehicles safely to transport beams to the new Dalmagarry side road bridge. Signals will be used at the Tomatin North junction and the Ruthven Road junction, with all traffic stopped for up to ten minutes at a time. There will be a maximum of three stoppages between eight in the morning and eight at night.
Staff will be on site to minimise disruption.
Progress is being made on the Highland Council’s Net Zero Programme, including efforts to reduce waste and improve recycling.
Waste audits in schools have identified around 75 tonnes of recyclable material that could be diverted from non-recyclable bins each year. Food waste collections are also due to be expanded to around 30 more schools and several council buildings during the next academic year.
Work is also continuing on nature networks, biodiversity and the next Highland Local Development Plan, with climate change and environmental protection key priorities.
Ross County and Inverness Caley Thistle both play in the second round of the Premier Sports Scottish League Cup this weekend.
County has an away game against Dunfermline Athletic this afternoon at three o'clock, while Caley Thistle plays away tomorrow against Hearts with kick off at 2 o'clock.
