The Justice Service team is inviting the public to an open day on Wednesday, 28th January.

The event aims to provide information about community sentences in Scotland, with a focus on Inverness and the surrounding areas.

In four ninety-minute sessions, staff will explain sentencing, Community Payback Orders and licence conditions. They will also highlight work completed across the region by those fulfilling unpaid work requirements.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to book a place on one of the sessions by phoning 01463 644900 or emailing cjs.Inverness@highland.gov.uk

BEAR Scotland have announced that the delayed resurfacing works on the A835 between Conan Bridge and Kinkell will begin tonight.

The works will take place overnight Sunday to Thursday between 8pm and 6am, with a lane closure and convoy system in place each working night.

Outside working hours, both lanes will be open with a 30mph speed restriction.

The project is scheduled for completion by 6am on Wednesday 28th January.

Eden Court, the multi-arts venue in Inverness, has been awarded a fifty-five-thousand pound grant to install new Changing Places Toilets (CPTs) in the venue.

CPTs differ from standard accessible toilets by offering internal dimensions of twelve square metres or more, a ceiling hoist and an adult-sized changing bench to allow personal care needs to be met.

…..and in the weekend football ……

Inverness Caley Thistle was held to a nil-nil draw on Saturday by Cove Rangers in League One, and is three points behind league leader, Stenhousemuir, albeit with two games in hand.

Ross County stopped its run of seven league matches without a win on Friday night, when it beat Partick Thistle two-nil.

County's first goal was scored just 19 seconds after the start of the match.

County remains bottom of the Championship, now two points behind Queens Park, whose game on Saturday was postponed.
