Highland Council Councillors have approved a Community Regeneration Grant for Gairloch Museum…
The £45,000 grant will allow plans to go ahead to build a full scale replica of an Iron Age Roundhouse at the Museum site. The Grant will go towards the total cost of the project which will be almost £300,000. It is hoped that the pioneering project will provide many benefits in the area, including heritage preservation, community wellbeing, and skills and educational training. The project is to start in June 2026, and will run with construction and programming extending into 2028.
Inverness Victorian Market is celebrating the installation and return of their popular model railway.
The original train was removed in 2022, following a revamp of the market and the addition of the food hall. However, after a lot of work and support from various organisations the new train and multiple tracks were relaunched to the delight of enthusiasts and customers at the weekend. The development project was supported by Highland Council, University of the Highlands and Islands and various local Model Railway Clubs and enthusiasts,
Scoraig is to get a Branch clinic visit from Ullapool GPs and District Nurses:
Tomorrow Thursday April 30th, Scoraig, the off grid community on the shores of Little Loch Broom, is receiving an outreach visit from the Ullapool medical team, including Doctors and District Nurses. Appointments for this outreach clinic can be made via contacting the Ullapool Medical Centre as usual. Scoraig can be accessed by either post boat or by road via the Badrallach turn off on the A832.
