Scottish Ministers are looking to fill three non-executive director positions on the board of Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
HIE is looking for 3 new non-executive directors, who are expected to start three-year terms in September. The development agency operates across a geographically diverse region that is home to around 470,000 people and covers more than half of Scotland’s land mass, including all 94 inhabited islands.
With around 250 employees, HIE supports businesses and communities to build a greener, fairer and more resilient region for everyone, as well as making a significant contribution to Scotland’s economy.
NHS Highland has confirmed that work to renovate the Cardiac Unit in Raigmore Hospital has now been completed.
Patients have now been moved into the refreshed Coronary Care Unit, after a significant investment by NHS Highland. The refurbishments will provide improved outcomes for patients and also support them further in their stay in hospital.

It isn’t only climbers who get misty-eyed about the awe-inspiring mountains and ancient pinewoods of Beinn Eighe, Britain’s first national nature reserve. In a recent national feature it was poetically observed that ‘The waymarked quartzite path glimmered in the sunshine and is flanked by amber gold grassland.’
The Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve itself stretches 48 square kilometeres from Loch Maree to the Summit of Beinn Eighe itself, and was established originally in 1951. The article by travel writer Stuart Kenny is hoped to provide a boost to the area with descriptions of the walks, tourism on offer and the unique landscape.
