A family-run micro-distillery in Badachro is set for significant growth after securing over £100,000 in investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Badachro Distillery Ltd, founded almost 10 years ago by Gordon and Vanessa Quinn has now grown into an International Brand, which supplies retail, trade and export markets. It also operates a shop, offers tours and tastings from their premises in Badachro.

The new investment will support the development of a small malt whisky distillery, as well as plans to upgrade their electricity supply and PV solar system.

Households across rural Scotland will be able to apply for £300 towards heating costs from 1st April.

Under a new Scottish government scheme, up to £10million pounds will be available under the Emergency Heating Oil Scheme to support those struggling with the rising costs of heating oil and liquid petroleum gas. The fund is aimed at low income households and payments will be made directly to suppliers where possible. This is to help households secure fuel during periods of high demand and rising prices.

And in today’s football news:

Both Ross County and Inverness Caley Thistle have matches this evening. County plays away against Partick Thistle in the Championship and will be hoping to make up ground on the teams above it while Caley Thistle has a home game in League One against Queen of the South.

Both matches kick off at 7.45 with Caley Thistle's game being televised live on BBC Alba.
