The Highland Local Action Group is encouraging Community organisations to apply for small Grants. 

Each year, a Community Led Development Fund is available and they are raising awareness of this by asking for groups to apply for a grant. For the scheme 2026-2027, the 2 priorities are Strengthening Communities in the Highlands, and Reducing Inequality. So far, funding has been awarded to 23 different projects in the Highlands, with more proposals still pending approval. 


Photographic entries are now being invited for the Ullapool Flower, Craft and Produce Show which takes place in August…

The show, which will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2026 and will be held in the Ullapool Village Hall is inviting photo entries from amateur photographers, to be submitted by email by the 30th July. This will therefore allow time for the entries to be collated and judged before the show at the end of August. The categories for the Flower and Produce items are to be announced soon. 


A major building society has chosen Inverness as one its UK high street branches to host a defibrillator and bleed kit locally…

The Nationwide has applied to Highland Council for permission to install a defibrillator (to help save someone’s life during a potential cardiac event) and a bleed first aid kit.. The lifesaving equipment would be installed at some of their branches, including the one at the Eastgate shopping centre in the centre of inverness.
