BEAR Scotland have advised that resurfacing works will take place from the River Garry to Shierglas, west of Blair Atholl, from tonight until Monday 8th June.

The works will take place between 7pm and 6am each night with a convoy system and 10 miles per hour speed limit in place.

Outside of working hours, two-way traffic lights will be in place to ensure limited traffic build up in the area.

Speed restrictions will also be in operation during the day, as traffic will be running on a temporary surface with no road markings.

Real time journey information is available on the Traffic Scotland website.

SSEN Transmission are to initiate preparatory works to support the installation of the mainland underground cable section of the Western Isles HVDC Link.

These will begin on Monday 8th June and focus on the route between Dundonnell and Beauly, and involve smaller, unclassified roads and existing access routes.

The works will include access provision, improving local tracks to support cable installation, establishing temporary working compounds, and undertaking specific tree felling.

Advance notice of temporary traffic management provision or localized activity will be given wherever possible.

Community liaison groups will be set up at both ends of the construction route.

Families and friends from communities across the Highlands are invited to take part in the Safe Strong & Free Colour Run on Sunday 31st May 2026.

The event - aimed at promoting respect, inclusion, and standing against bullying and discrimination - will take place at Torvean Park, Inverness at 11.30 am.

Local police officers will also be attending the event, giving children and families the opportunity to meet officers, explore the police vehicle and enjoy informal conversations with community partners.
