Construction works at Check Rail Corner near Garve, which were due to start on Saturday, have been postponed.
In an update BEAR Scotland said that following the recent severe weather, site inspections have identified some additional measures that would provide further long-term benefits to the project.
Works to replace the retaining wall damaged by a car in 2023, started in April this year, but were paused following a storm in July.
The company has already faced criticism over the length of time the project has run and ongoing issues with the temporary traffic lights.
The project is due for completion in March 2027.
