Culvert replacement work is scheduled to start today on the A832 approximately five miles south of Dundonnell as part of the Western Isles Mainland Cable Project. The work will focus on six culverts with each taking around four to six weeks to complete. If practical, work may take place on two culverts at the same time to help minimize the duration of disruption.
Traffic management measures will be in place with a daytime single lane convoy system operating during working hours from 7am till 7pm and temporary traffic lights controlling traffic through the works area outside these hours. Speed restrictions will be introduced and vehicle delays are expected to be no more than fifteen minutes, often less. Night time closures of the road are planned for the future with detailed information of these to be released in the next two weeks.
