An extensive search and rescue operation was carried out on Monday following an incident at the Kessock Bridge. Police and ambulance crews were called out along with the Kessock lifeboat and the Coastguard helicopter.
Some two hours later a man was recovered from the Beauly Firth close to the Merkinch nature reserve. He was taken to Raigmore Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Police Scotland are seeking information following a fatal accident near Dingwalll on Monday afternoon.
A 59 year old motorcyclist died after his BMW motorcycle was in a collision with a Volkswagen Passat car on the A862 road near the Ardullie roundabout on the A9.
A Police spokesperson appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or any of the vehicles prior to make contact and for anyone with dashcam footage which could assist to get in touch by contacting 101 quoting reference 2129 of August 17.
The road was closed for almost six hours after the accident for investigation into what happened.
Ross County Football Club has set up an independent Fan Advisory Board to provide a partnership between the club and its supporters, allowing open communication between the two.
The Board will help bridge ideas, suggestions and feedback to the club from a dedicated panel of supporters who are passionate about the Club, its future and interests both on and off the park. Regular surveys of the fanbase will be held to ascertain views, opinions and ideas with the results fed back to the Club. County is believed to be just the second club in Scotland to have such a Board, the other being Rangers.
Meantime, County’s home match in the quarter final of the Premier Sports Scottish League Cup has been confirmed to take place on Saturday 12th September with the kick off at 3 o’clock.
