A Hotel chain, which includes various establishments along the North Coast 500 and within Wester Ross has revealed that it has invested over £1m in a makeover at some of its premises in the region.  

Highland Coast Hotels, has said it’s increased the capacity for the Autumn season onwards to 22 rooms at Kylesku Hotel in Assynt as well as upgrading 10 rooms in The Haven at Plockton Inn. The Chain has intimated that these improvements have been made to improve the visitor experience locally and it is hoped that this will allow year-round employment opportunities in the Hotels. 

The annual Wester Ross Tractor Run for Charity will take place this week….

Setting off from Ullapool on Thursday 17th Sept, the tractors will travel via Garve, Achnasheen, Lochcarron and over the Bealach na Ba and will spend the night in Applecross. On Fri 18th they travel to Sheildaig, Kinlochewe and Gairloch, before returning via Aultbea to arrive back in Ullapool on Sat 19th Sept around 4.30pm. This annual event raises funds for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and donations can be made along the route or online via a fundraising page.

Ross County was beaten three nil by Premiership club Hibernian in the quarter finals of the Premier Sports Cup. County was two nil down after quarter of an hour and lost another goal before half time.
In the Championship, Inverness Caley Thistle won its first league match of the season when it beat Ayr United three one to move up to seventh place in the table.
