SSEN Transmission is inviting people to submit views on the proposed temporary closure of a 4.7 mile stretch of the A832 between Dundonnell and Fainmore House.
The closure is scheduled to take place from Monday 27th October until Friday 19th December 2025 and from Monday 5th January through to Spring 2026.
The contractors will adopt a fortnightly working pattern of ten days on, four days off.
On working days, the road will be closed between 7am and 9pm and temporary access will be granted between
• 08:00 - 08.45
• 12:30 - 13:30
• 16:30 - 17:30
• And for timetabled school transport and local bus services
Diversions via Gairloch and Gorstan will be in place.

Twenty-three-year-old Leah McBain from Lochinver has taken up the role of Highland Youth Convener for 2025-26.
Leah will work closely with young people across the Highlands through the Highland Youth Parliament, area youth forums and pupil councils in secondary schools.
She will also provide a consistent link for elected members and senior officials in The Highland Council, representing young people’s views, and attending relevant council and community planning partner meetings.
The Highland Youth Convener is a full-time bursary position that runs for 12 months, and Leah is the 17th person to be appointed to the role.
