A new education toolkit designed to help schools prevent bullying, racism and discrimination has been launched by Safe Strong & Free at a civic reception in Inverness Town House. 

The Stronger Together Toolkit provides practical lesson plans, activities and guidance to help schools support children to understand differences, challenge discrimination and build a culture of kindness, respect and inclusion. 
Partner agencies working with schools and communities have raised concerns that racial incidents involving children and young people are increasing but were often going unreported or not formally recorded. The Stronger Together Toolkit has been developed to support schools to address these issues.

Craig Findlay from Strathcarron has been named as Aquaculture Learner of the Year at Lantra Scotland’s ALBAS - Awards for Land Based and Aquaculture Skills, with awards made for agriculture, aquaculture, environmental conservation, land based engineering and veterinary nursing among others. 

Craig has been studying for a Diploma in Aquaculture through UHI Shetland while working as a senior marine technician with Scottish Sea Farms. The ALBAS are organised by Lantra, the sector skills council for the land-based, aquaculture and environmental conservation industries with its work in Scotland supported by the Scottish Government. 

The award of Best Independent Bookshop in Scotland has been given to Book Lovers Bookshop in Edinburgh believed to be the first Bricks and Mortar Romance-only bookshop in the UK. 

Although not the winner, Ullapool Bookshop was thrilled to be a finalist in the Best Independent Bookshop category for the British Book Awards and says it puts Ullapool firmly on the literary map for the whole of the UK

The manager of Ross County Football Club, Stuart Kettlewell, has been named Scottish Championship manager of the month for February with his team winning two and drawing one of its four matches and conceding only one goal in the process. 

A spokesperson for the award sponsor, Glen’s, said that Kettlewell has shown outstanding leadership throughout February, guiding the team through a demanding run of fixtures with real clarity and purpose.
