Motorists are reminded of possible disruption on the C1087 Bealach Na Ba road this weekend.
Full road closure tomorrow and Sunday was originally planned to allow for drone filming but Highland Council has now confirmed that there will be a stop and go traffic system in operation tomorrow between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
Applecross Community Council has been told that if there is low cloud cover or rain on Saturday or Sunday they will not be able to use the drone or film at all but if filming does go ahead, it is likely to be in the later part of the day after 3.30pm to catch the evening light with delays kept as short as possible and not more than fifteen minutes at a time.
Crown Estate Scotland is inviting expressions of interest in its Community Capacity Grants Programme which enables communities on to thrive through provision of early-stage financial support up to £50,000 for local projects.
The projects must create self sustaining community enterprises that will promote sustainable development or contribute to the regeneration of places. The fund is open to all communities situated up to five miles from coastal or estuarine foreshore with awards available on a competitive basis for between £20,000 and £50,000. Expressions of interest must be received before Friday 25th September.
In local football Gairloch and Aultbea United has a home match against Portree tomorrow afternoon at Maclennan Park, Aultbea in the Clan Donald Cup.
Kick off is at one o’clock and will be preceded by a minute’s silence in memory of Peggy King who died recently. Peggy was a long time supporter of GA United and young person’s football in the area. A spokesperson for United has said that without her support it is unlikely there would be any youth football in the area.
Elsewhere, Ross County has a home game in the quarter finals of the Premier Sports Cup against Premiership side Hibernian while Inverness Caley Thistle travels to play Ayr United in the Championship. Both games kick off at three o’clock tomorrow afternoon, County’s match is being televised live on Premier Sports.
