A new community liaison group is being established to give local representatives a forum to discuss the Western Isles HVDC Mainland Cable Project.
Community Councils are being invited to the group’s inaugural meeting at Badcaul Church on Tuesday, August 11th, at 7pm. The meeting will provide an overview of the proposed cable project and explain the role of the new group.
Organizers also plan to widen participation to other community representatives, ensuring affected areas have a voice. Membership will be kept to a manageable size.

King Charles III has visited Dingwall as the Highland town celebrates 800 years since receiving Royal Burgh status.
The King met local volunteers, businesses, young people, cultural groups and emergency service representatives during his visit on Friday. The event highlighted the contribution of community organizations and residents across Dingwall and Ross-shire. The year-long Dingwall 800 programme is being coordinated by Fèis Rois alongside Highland Council, Dingwall Community Council, Dingwall Community Development Company and other local partners.
Events are celebrating the town’s heritage while looking towards its future.
