King Charles will pay a Royal visit to Dingwall on Friday 7th August.
The visit to mark the 800th Anniversary of Dingwall being made a Royal Burgh was confirmed by The King’s Representative in Ross and Cromarty, Lord Lieutenant Joanie Whiteford. Dingwall is marking the historic 800th Anniversary with a year of celebrations throughout 2026 and the Town is delighted to welcome His Majesty for a visit on Friday.
All are welcome to attend Dingwall Town Hall from Noon onwards on Friday.
An historic Bothy in Torridon will temporarily close for maintenance and building work in August.
The Mountain Bothy Association (which runs and maintains many bothies within Scotland) endeavours not to close bothies (or mountain shelters), wherever possible. However, due to the amount of work required, the Craig Bothy, on the Craig River, North of Lower Diabaig in Torridon, will be closed from 19th August to 5th September inclusive. Substantial maintenance is due to take place on the property and therefore the Mountain Bothy Association has no choice but to close this shelter for walkers for a short period to allow the work to take place.
High Life Highland Countryside Rangers are celebrating Moths this month!
The wonderful world of Moths and the temporary loan of Moth traps are being offered from a selection of High Life Highland Libraries this month. Moth traps allow a variety of moths to be safely studied, photographed and safely released.
