The Highland Council is asking for views on plans for a possible ‘Park and Ride’ facility in Inverness aimed at supporting longer-distance journeys to places such as Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The proposal is part of the Council’s Travel Hubs project, which is looking at better ways to connect different forms of transport.

Officials want to know whether Park and Ride could offer a practical option for people travelling onwards by bus or coach.

A short survey is available on the council website and is open until midnight on 31st July 2026.

The British Hen Welfare Trust (BHWT) is holding a hen rehoming event in Inverness on Saturday, July 18th.

The 18-month-old hens have come to the end of their commercial laying lives and are looking for their forever home.

The charity says these friendly, curious birds have plenty of life and personality left to give, and will also pop out the occasional egg for good measure.

If insufficient homes are offered, then the hens face slaughter.
