A new Highland Youth Convener has been appointed….
22 year old Eilidh Primrose from Inverness has taken up the position from Leah McBain and is the 18th such person appointed to the role. This vital position provides a key link between elected members and senior workers in the Highland Council, with the Youth Convener representing young people’s views. The convener also can be a sounding board for some of the issues young people have to deal with. The position is a full-time role and runs for 12 months.

The programme, which was launched in 2020, gives practical support to a wide range of projects, with over £2.25 million pounds already given. This year the Fund is offering the opportunity for 2 separate grants: Either an Environment Grant of between £5,000 and £20,000, or a Community Capacity Grant of £20,000-£50,000. The latter is to support early stage Community Enterprise projects, specifically located within 5 miles of the Crown Estate’s coastline.

The 10 day festival, covers a Studio Trail, Exhibitions, Events and Art Workshops. Programmes are available from local businesses, with a diverse programme of talks by local Artists, new work accompanied by Poetry and a host of workshops, window displays and exhibitions.
