Gairloch Pharmacy has announced that the Aultbea prescription delivery service will cease at the end of the year.
The service was started to mitigate restrictions on movement during the Covid pandemic, providing essential support to those unable to travel to the pharmacy in person.
The upcoming changes will ensure Aultbea aligns with other communities that the pharmacy serves.
Customers are advised that a friend or family member can collect prescriptions for those unable to visit in person. The Community Car Scheme can assist those who do not have access to transport.
Gaelic and Scots have been formally recognized as official languages following the implementation of several new measures that took effect on St Andrew’s Day, yesterday.
The historic milestone was achieved through the Scottish Languages Bill which was introduced in 2023 and received Royal Assent in August.
Other measures of the Act include empowering parents to ask for a Gaelic school to be established in their area, ensuring that more qualifications are available in Gaelic and introducing targets for the number of people speaking and learning Gaelic.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has invited UHI students to design a new tartan to be used in HIE promotional material and merchandise.
The competition, which marks 60 years since HIE was established as the Highlands and Islands Development Board, carries a cash prize of fifteen hundred pounds.
The challenge follows the unveiling of the new tartan for the Inverness Castle Experience.

In the third round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup on Saturday, Ross County beat Highland League side Banks O'Dee two-nil, with a goal in each half. It's the first win for County in the Scottish Cup since January 2019 when it beat Motherwell two-one.
Inverness Caley Thistle's away match against Tranent was postponed on account of the pitch being waterlogged and will now be played next Saturday.
